Trinity, U.S. national soccer team player and daughter of basketball legend Dennis Rodman, revealed difficult details about her relationship with her father: “He partied 24 hours a day, loved the spotlight”
“Not a dad.” Former NBA star Dennis Rodman was known for his flamboyant lifestyle and sometimes excessive extroversion, both on and off the court. This provocative personality, according to his daughter Trinity Rodman, made him everything – except a family man.
“Maybe biologically he’s a dad, but that’s where it ends,” admitted Trinity, a U.S. national soccer team player, on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast. “He partied 24 hours a day, was an alcoholic, always brought prostitutes. He loved the spotlight.”
The soccer player continued to reveal difficult details about her relationship with her father, who famously had a publicized romance with singer Madonna and subsequently married three times. Trinity talked about the incident when Rodman showed up at her team’s game about three years ago, without saying a word beforehand: “I was so angry, I told myself ‘No way this is happening now.’ He played mind games with me, said ‘I want us to meet soon’ and then we didn’t see each other for a year.”
In the past, Rodman admitted in an interview with Oprah Winfrey: “I don’t know how to be a father. My ex-wife told me I don’t care about my kids, that I don’t know how to hug them. I told her I do care, I just don’t know how to show it.”
